The BRIDGE project (Building Resilient Innovations in Democracy, Governance and Excellence) aims to promote participatory governance initiatives and community development in Ukraine’s local governments (‘hromadas’) affected by Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Financed by the EU Horizon Europe programme (project number 101160337), it brings together the Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Berlin University of Technology, the Kyiv School of Economics, and the University of Tartu to build research capacity for the Kyiv School of Economics.
ECePS' participation in BRIDGE highlights its ongoing efforts to develop and study the socio-economic impact of digital governance innovations and demonstrates its contributions to capacity building throughout Europe, particularly in Eastern Partnership countries.
Throughout the project, particular focus will be given to implementing and studying pilot citizens’ assemblies and exploring how digital solutions can facilitate participatory decision-making in these assemblies. ECePS's role in the project is to assist the Kyiv School of Economics in establishing a new international research support unit and to train its managers and researchers to use digital solutions in their research endeavours.
