Blue Green Governance (BGG) is a project that brings together 14 international partners to develop and explore innovative governance arrangements to protect EU and UK oceans and coastal regions from the long-term impacts of climate change.
ECePS's contribution to the project is to design and assess the impact of a set of digital tools that model the consequences of climate change in different scenarios, which can then be used in dialogues between different stakeholders affected by climate change. ECePS' participation in Blue Green Governance demonstrates its commitment to multidisciplinary academic research and the study of the socio-economic impact of digital innovations.
Co-funded by the EU's Horizon Europe (project number 101086091) and the UK's Research and Innovation Programmes, the BGG aims to improve the effectiveness and sustainability of coastal policies and empower coastal communities to live in harmony with their environment. It does so by using digital tools, engaging communities and using scientific research in policy experiments.
